About the Project:
The S.Sekar collaboration saw the creation of a collection of hand painted batik cotton scarves, each piece a one of a kind. S.Sekar is a skilled batik artisan living in Chennai, India. He is deaf and dumb and learnt the art of hand batik through a development program he is part of.
He started making wall hangings where his flair became apparent, and only recently gave up his day job to do batik full time. I felt very moved by his work and was keen to collaborate and explore this beautiful art of hand drawn batik.
You can read more information about this project on the blog.
Scarves are one metre square, lightweight cotton. If you are interested in seeing the whole collection or purchasing these scarves please email sales_@_emmamcginn.com.
